Watch Tony Hawk's Cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Wish"

Keep your eyes peeled for a Trent Reznor cameo

It's no secret that Tony Hawk is a fan of rock music. After all, he took to the stage of The Masked Singer to perform the Cure's "Friday, I'm in Love" back in 2020 and has his name attached to one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. So, when Toronto-based punk singer Mikey Hawdon recruited Hawk to be a part of his YouTube cover series Mikey & His Uke, the pair teamed up with a group of musicians to recreate "Wish" by Nine Inch Nails

The accompanying video sees the band — made up of professional musicians Ben Weinman (guitar), Brad Magers (bass), Kat Lucas (keys) and Brad Leger (drums) — stitched together from their remote locations to support Hawk's lead vocals as he skateboards through the streets (because what else would he be doing?). Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor even makes a cameo.

After retiring from professional skateboarding, Hawk has charmed fans on social media by sharing his encounters with people who think he looks a whole lot like Tony Hawk. Maybe now, instead of Elephant from The Masked Singer or Anthony Hawkins or the guy who betrays Patrick Swayze in Ghost, Hawk will be recognized as that one guy from that YouTube ukulele cover.
